Agenda - Week 2: September 8th-11th, 2020
September 8th:
Dear parents,
Today we learnt how to play a ukelele. We began our training for the Terry Fox run for next Friday. We also spoke about good questions, how to ask questions, and the difference between questions and statements in English. We discussed the importance of the circle of courage, and how it applies to our lives. Lastly, we began our morning routine with a "question du jour".
Some reminders:
- Next Friday, the 18th, is the Terry Fox run.
- There will be forms sent home that need to be returned by next Wednesday, the 16th.
September 9th:
Dear Parents, Today we finished our circle of courage activity, we then worked on what are nouns, adjectives, and verbs. Afterwards, we talked about who scientists are and how we perceive them. After lunch, students did a music lesson with ukelele's and read silently. Finally, we read "Le souris et le fleuriste" and completed some compréhension questions. Some reminders: - Forms are coming home today with students... please make sure to have those returned by next Wednesday, the 16th. - Terry Fox run will be next Friday, the 18th of September.
September 10th:
Dear parents, Today we played games in English focusing on nouns, verbs and adjectives. We also explored on Google Maps the community of Tuscany, Calgary, Alberta, and Canada. We focused on new definitions and tried to find them on the map. Then, we worked on addition, subtraction and place value in math. After lunch we worked on story structure in French by discussing and highlighting introduction, rising action, climax, fall, and conclusion. Students then created their own stories using these ideas as their main focus. Some reminders: - Terry Fox is next Friday from 12:10-12:30 for our class. If you haven't returned the signed forms, please do so by next Wednesday. - If you have rented a library book, from last year, please return to Mme Roussy. - School council is tonight, online, at 6:30pm. This will be on Zoom.
September 11th:
Dear parents, Today we completed an art project that focused on lines, texture, colours, space, and shapes. We then looked over some math and discussed our unit in number sense. This included adding, subtracting, and place value. Lastly, we completed a science experiment and made a rainbow! Some reminders: - Terry Fox is next Friday from 12:10-12:30pm. - Please return and sign forms. - Get Epic! and math games are available for weekend activities. Enjoy your weekend! :)
